Can I compose a song from scratch through Songwriting (Co Writing) sessions?
You can absolutely begin a song from scratch in a Songwriting session. Many great songs start that way. The key principle is that the starting point must come from you.
It does not need to be polished. It can be a theme, a personal story, a specific emotion, or simply an idea you want to explore. What matters is that there is something personal to build on.
❌ What won't work as a starting point:
-
Asking the songwriter to “just write a song” without offering any input, or providing a list of songs you like and expecting something similar.
-
Submitting an AI style prompt, something like: "Write a 3 minute pop song in the style of Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo.
Theme: heartbreak and empowerment.
Structure: Verse, Pre Chorus, Chorus, Verse, Pre Chorus, Chorus, Bridge, Final Chorus.
Include vivid imagery, a catchy hook repeated three times, and a viral TikTok friendly lyric.
Make the chorus anthemic and radio ready."This is 100% human collaboration. Our songwriters create by interacting with your experiences, emotions, perspectives and stories. Take the time to connect with your idea yourself, and bring those insights into your notes and the session.
